Lead HVAC Installation Technician Tacoma, WA

Install heating and air conditioning systems to company standards providing the customer with a high quality experience. Supervise the work of other installers maintaining high quality and timely job performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Universal EPA Certification
  • Proficient in installing round and rectangular duct
  • Able to measure ductwork and install all equipment accessories
  • Basic understanding of more complex sheet metal fittings
  • Can complete RNC homes unsupervised and on budget
  • Complete any water heater replacement (including tankless) solo
  • Efficient on ductless installations
  • Able to operate gas pipe machine
  • Must be able to communicate well with supervisors, customers, and other trades
  • Maintain builder and sub-contractor relations
  • Ability to complete all necessary checklists and forms
  • Able to complete and follow through on change orders and customer walk-throughs
  • Braze line sets and flare fittings
  • Able to supervise and train others
  • Complete any indoor unit change out solo
  • All high voltage wiring connections and basic electrical knowledge
  • Understands all relevant mechanical codes
  • Basic diagnostics on new installations

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Operate company vehicle daily

  • Supervise and be responsible for other installers
  • Report problems with company tools or vehicle promptly
  • Work well with customers, co-workers and subcontractors
  • Work staggered schedule if required

  • Run a job without supervision
  • Complete jobs within the labor budget
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, job packets, change orders, time cards
  • Train Level 2 Installers (includes planned training schedule)
  • 12 hours of job related training annually
  • Prepare for 2 remaining NATE specialty tests
  • Pass 06A test and acquire certification
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to work comfortably from a ladder
  • Ability to lift 100lbs
  • Working in tight spaces, specifically attics and crawl spaces
  • Exposed to the outdoor environment and extreme temperatures at times.
  • Occasional high levels of dust
  • Working on-site at customer’s home

HVAC Service Technician Tacoma, WA

Ranger Heating & Cooling is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to provide maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of residential and commercial heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards providing the customer with a high quality experience

Reports To: Service Department Manager

Work Hours: Monday– Friday 8:00 – 5:00 pm, some weekends and evenings

Perform the following technical duties:

  • Electrical and refrigeration principles
  • Service tools and testing devices
  • Ability to layout and install refrigeration piping
  • Ability to layout and install low voltage wiring
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints
  • Diagnose, repair & provide preventative maintenance on a wide range of residential and light commercial equipment without supervision.
  • HVAC building code compliance.
  • Advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Advanced experience in presenting repair and replacement options.
  • Operation of scissors and genie lifts in safe manner.
  • Basic sheet metal practices.
  • Air balancing principles, techniques & diagnostics with velometer or hood
  • Calculate equipment efficiency
  • Basic sheet metal practices
  • Purchase / Maintain required tool list
  • Arrive at job site at scheduled time and location as dispatched
  • Relocate from one job site to another job site as dispatched during the workday.
  • Report to dispatcher when arriving and leaving job site
  • Operate company vehicle as needed
  • Follow instructions from supervisor and/or dispatcher and carry out in timely manner
  • Report problems with company tools or vehicle promptly
  • Report problems with equipment to Service Dispatcher to expedite parts delivery
  • Communicate with customers and collect C.O.D. on maintenance visits as directed
  • Other duties as assigned
